Baby Avonelle

Avonelle was Born on April 27th. 3 weeks early! It was the day after her Great Grandmother Avonelles birthday whom we named her after. She was 8 pds and 19.5" long. My water broke on the 25th and I wasn't sure whether I was just peeing my pants or not! So I didn't go in... So, if you think you might be peeing your pants just a few drops every 3-4 hours or so... your water could have broken. it doesn't have to come in a gush! My baby shower was on the 26th. And I finally decided that I should at least go to the hospital and check to be safe, since you aren't supposed to go to long with your water broken. The nurse didn't think that my water had broken either, but they did a test under the microscope, and sure enough! it was my water, so they put me on pitocin, and started the contractions! I was up all night with contractions with the nurses turning the pitocin up then for whatever reason they turned it down, and the next nurse never started it back up again so I started un-dialating... my doctor came in mid morning and was pissed! She said either shit or get off the pot! turn the pitocin up as long as the baby is tolerating it. so they turned it up HIGH! it was a never ending contraction!!! I was going to try to do it all natural, but no way! I got the epidural and took a 3 hour nap. woke up and an hour or so later was ready to push. I am lucky I had my doctor. I would have ended up with a c-section if I had another doctor because my water was broken for so long. They kept Avonelle in the nursery most of our hospital stay, because they were giving her antibiotics. POOR LITTLE GIRL! the IV is what is on her arm in the picture. so then she was spoiled and wanted a bottle because it is easy and that is what the nursery gave her.
